Feb. 12-I went to the farm in a corduroy shirt. That came off an hour later. Before I could begin, a fender bender happened in front of the gate on N. Tryon. Drivers often pull into the drive in front of the gate to turn around. Apparently someone did and was hit, turning the car 180 degrees into the next lane. I have yet another reason not to drive. The noise upset Sissy Boy, the wimped out tomcat, but didn't affect his mother CC. She's been through enough to take it in stride. He ran under the fence and didn't reappear until all the commotion ended about 30 minutes later. I've become pretty good and sawing a 2x4 with the coping saw so the cut is 90 degrees square. I placed another lettuce tray outside, brining the total to 54 young plants in various stages of growth. The bed in front of the ledge got attention. I got tired of looking at that bare orange patch of clay and covered it. One day soon I will till it to level it as best I can then plant. I'm thinking legumes to restore nitrogen. I took a nap or sorts in the afternoon. Nice day for it. A mockingbird, the one that likes to torment the cats with its antics let go with a minutes' worth of song. I left around 4 for the bus stop across from the Urban Ministry. This time of year in North Carolina the Japanese Tulip trees put out purplish blooms that resemble tulips. Very traditional Southern tree. Seven were in bloom across the street and four on my side. They appeared happy.

He looks at you like you owe him money.
