Agree the demand is there and will grow exponentially ...whether it be school buses or more first time offenders...or even devices programmed for one test at start up for non restricted drivers.. (Company vehicles or teen problem drivers) the interlock really has only just begun to develop to full potential. I'm surprised the big dogs in the industry haven't updated their technology... Some..like Lifesaver..have the same cumbersome process and device they had 12 years ago.. The leaders in this market will be the companies with the easiest device to use with the fewest aborts, false positives, and most forgiveness..like missing a rolling test because of noise...but giving a good test within a couple minutes of missed test without a violation. MOnthly lease cost to users will also be a huge factor. Let's face it...most DUI offenders are low income and will gravitate to lowest cost interlock...and then bitch and moan about its performance...In 2019 ..ALL first offenders in CA will have to install interlock. They are coming out of the four county trial period and Gov Brown signed the legislation to require all first time offenders to get on interlock statewide. CA is home turf for BDIC HQs ... If they can tap into the coming potential market just in CA..their top line will explode. I really don't mind using a interlock device myself ...guarantee no DUI... And if you knew me you'd say that's good. The industry needs to leapfrog ahead with better and better tech ..right now it's scattered across the board from devices that give the driver trouble everyday..to virtually trouble free like Drager...it's an interesting industry..
