It's an odd rumor.

Feb 23rd, 2015 Valeant paid 14.5 billion dollars for Salix. The stock rallied from 173 to 199 dollars per share because they got it for such a cheap price.

In less than two years the stock has fallen to 14 and people are excited about being able to sell Salix for 10 billion.

A few months ago Valeant took a huge 3rd quarter loss because they acknowledged that the value of Salix had fallen sharply.

So maybe they are getting ready to get rid of it. Who knows?
