fuagf -- poor Noam, at least then still saddled, effectively self-locked within the cage of his frame of a lifetime of (genius) work in language and cognition, with his notion that we must first be able to fully/intimately understand our own intelligence and consciousness in terms of our own biological neural processes in order to then be able to create artificial intelligence greater than our own -- as you and I have both documented here, that assessment of his, from the in this realm ancient past of 40 months ago, has already been proven utterly and entirely incorrect -- we've already gone through the event horizon -- . . .

(a girlfriend back at school, as a graduate student, for several years worked directly with Noam, initially in linguistics and then in a joint Harvard/MIT doctoral program in experimental psychology; for many years now she's been doing artificial intelligence)
