Jarrell Texas F5 Tornado - Dead Man Walking Documentary

Published on Jan 2, 2016 by Dark Helmet [ http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCOGwF4i3HFqixExRogf0yUQ / http://www.youtube.com/user/standepain , http://www.youtube.com/user/standepain/videos ]

Documentary of the Jarrell, Texas F5 tornado that killed 27 people and obliterated the Double Creek estates on May 27, 1997. Widely considered [one example of some of] the most intense tornado damage ever recorded as the tornado wiped away virtually everything in its path. The tornado [had a] 0.0% survival rate above ground inside the core. The mother and daughter that survived were on the outer edge of the funnel. This tornado is also famous for the "DEAD Man Walking" photo of multiple vortices that resemble a pair of arms and legs as the tornado approached the photographer position.

For more information on the Jarrell tornado go to: https://extremeplanet.me/2012/06/26/aerial-damage-from-the-f5-jarrell-tornado-the-most-intense-tornado-damage-ever-photographed/

It was originally aired in 1999 and to my best knowledge this is the only copy of this on the internet.

Trivia: The Narrator is William Hootkins who played 'Porkins" in the original Star Wars film, and also the shady government agent In Raiders of the Lost ark and Lt. Ekhart in the 1989 Batman film.

Apologies for the poor quality of the video, the VHS tape this was recorded on is almost 30 years years old and this recording was done in EP and watched at least a hundred times so the tape is in very poor condition. I deliberately left the commercials in because...I like nostalgic commercials.

I do not own this video and the sole purpose of uploading this is for educational purposes and to preserve this fantastic documentary for people to see the destructive power of this tornado.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gBauRBN-8As [with comments] [the commentary best described as approximate to the reality/not highly accurate, even taking into account the state of knowledge in 1999; for example, the damage signs observed/recorded in the wake of the 1991 Red Rock tornado (coverage included in the post to which this is a reply), including over 2,000 head of cattle killed, many found missing legs and some even their heads and quite a few found 20 or more miles from where they had been, were notably more extreme than even the most extreme observed/recorded in the wake of the Jarrell tornado]
