Went to see a couple of movies yesterday with the spousal. As Oscar season is warming, I want to see as many as the candidates as possible.
Yesterday we went to see Manchester By the Sea.
I can't quite grasp why Casey Affleck would be up for an Oscar for this movie. He is playing the very same character he plays in all movies. The brooding quiet type who likes to get into fights.
I would say the movie took me nowhere. The only thing I learned is that people who live in New England cannot pronounce the names of the cities they live in. That and the women there all seem more desperate for human contact.
I stuck around through the credits at the end as I was hoping Nick Fury would come on and explain the ending to me.
In a nutshell, one guy, brings bad luck to everything he comes in contact with. He makes little effort to fix this. Everyone was sad. The End.
I'd give this movie 2.67 pickles.

Just my opinion, of course.
