The Little Band o Gold included Sonny's friend and bass player Dave Ranson. I had been working until 4am, when my wife woke me at nine with a phone call from Dave.

I was in a fog, but he urged me to come see this group he was in who were playing the outdoor facility in front of Lincoln Center.

It was an unbelievably magical night with the "swamp pop super group!"
