Well, research has barely begun on cannabinoids. It does seem to work for certain types of childhood epilepsy. And it's been known for decades that it can control glaucoma. People with various neurological diseases claim it's helped them. It works as a muscle relaxant and against pain.
But I'm sure it's not the panacea many pot activists believe it is. Research needs to be done, and by the time the pharmas are through with that, they'll hike prices to the stratosphere.
Certainly, if it's useful for chronic pain, it'd be an obvious choice over opioids.
