Furthermore, the promotion of new and renewable forms of energy forms part of the Albanian policy. As in other countries, due to market and regulatory failures, as well as higher investment costs, renewable energy investments are supported through State intervention in the form of varied support measures. The Albanian authorities are now amending existing support measures in order to provide a more accurate design of the support schemes. Particularly, the Albanian authorities intend now to promote solar, wind and biomass sources through additional financial support.
