Yeah bro I can't rule out your entire statement but it does apply to stocks somehow and extent of that is kind of limited sometimes or not even apply sometimes .... depends on case to case ......
Sometimes there is a delay for the reaction or even extent of the reaction is way too little than action like a falling/bouncing ball which goes too high but bounce back little ..... On top of that who knows if there still some action left before starting the reaction time ..... Means it have to fall little more say by 20-40% more ... who knows only time will tell us soon next week
