I think it depends on what kind of maintenance program it was being kept under. All that is a bit of a mystery to me but I do know it always gets a lot more attention when its been outside the US for a long time.
I still think the 767-300 is a red herring delaying tactic. I think they'll get a later model aircraft to certify with. Probably a 777.
