If Dellin Betances was 7 to 10 years older $5 million would not be a problem for the Yankees.

General manager Brian Cashman said the Yankees talked about a multi-year deal with Dellin Betances, but the two sides will head to arbitration next month.

The Yankees offered $3 million; Betances seeks $5 million.

Betances, who turns 29 in March, is under team control through 2019.



Don't forget on December 16, 2014, Chris Capuano re-signed with the Yankees on a one-year, $5 million contract.
