Predatory servicers? Debt collectors? Banks trying to get their money bank?
I don't want widows kicked out of their houses - but I'm not thinking Liz Warren has a leg to stand on since she also bought and profited from foreclosed homes. What happened to those homeowners? I noticed they didn't get those people to come to this hearing.
OWB may have been overly aggressive and maybe they were - but millions of people overspent on their homes beyond their means and didn't plan well.
Why should I believe whatever their testimony is? I have a 5 minute story I don't have the background on how they managed their finances.. what are banks supposed to do?
Similarly, people who have overborrowed for student loans are also wanting bailouts - what about the people who were responsible and live within their means and plan and pay back their loans? Why do they have to subsidize the people who don't?
The entire thing stinks of political populism and if you keep the bigger picture in focus you'll see that even if OWB was a 'poster child' of the sewer perhaps we should ask the people here if they tried to downsize or sell their homes and sacrifice their cars or maybe cut down on other spending?
