California might allow the Aliso Canyon natural gas site near Los Angeles to reopen, despite the fact that the cause of 2015’s massive gas leak has never been determined. In October, a pressurized gas well blew out and released a massive plume of natural gas for five months before it was sealed permanently with cement, forcing thousands of nearby residents to evacuate their homes.

But now California needs natgas so they will likely open Aliso Canyon which will drain a lot of natgas out of circulation. That will make a big draw down on inventory. We could be far below 5-year minimum very soon.
