It's always fair to "wait and see" as I agree actions speak louder than words. However, I would note the following;

Everything we're reading here shows a fundamaental and philosophical shift in attitude towards IP between the previous administration and new one.

From a platform standpoint it is well known the GOP is a constitutionalist party. The Dems are socialists and the idea of private property and primacy of the individual is less engrained in their views. In fact, on Paul Ryan's website where he provides the GOP platform they specially talk of patents and IP as private rights - see page 15 in the link below

https://www.gop.com/the-2016-republican-party-platform/

Quote " we call for strong action by congress and a new republican president to enforce ip against all infringers whether foreign or domestic" - talk of china here too

Trump is also not "beholden" to lobbyists and Google as Obama was and indeed he ran a campaign against such issues. I agree he's for big biz, but he will be certain to avoid Google's wishes as a slap at Obama

Many seem to be grouping all big companies as anti patent holder- as I mentioned prior this is the furthest from the truth and trump can be both big biz and pro patent - these ideas are not mutually exclusive. Not every big company is anti ip.

His son lost a lot of money getting "efficiently infringed"

He is anti china and china is strengthening Ip laws so much that companies are going there to litigate - that is a slap in he face to him

He is trying to ensure jobs come back home and employment increases - and that seems to be his main concern. His closest advisors on IP share the view that we need stricter enforcement of patents as these are key to investment and economic growth in a knowledge economy - meaning stronger IP= more jobs

Everything I read and put together suggests he will be very pro patent holder. In fact, I'd be heavily surprised if he is not,

Reality is, Obama's admin was bought by special interests, one the biggest was google, who's relationship with the government was incestuous, and their influence outsized, that will change

Google is the leader of ip theft. Trump is not going to listen to Obama's pimp.
