In hindsight, Carl was smart to make a move. The opportunity cost of holding capital tight up in this company is prohibitive. He has likely put his money to good use with his new venture.
But UCPA should have sold Carl's ownership stake to a strategic investor for cash or other assets. Instead, ownership in UCPA today is highly concentrated between 2 individuals and the company is incapable of making any meaningful maneuvers on the capital market due to a lack of free cash flows. But hey, Niclas and Lars both enjoy high salaries and the prospect of cashing out a huge profit some day. For the company, the lack of vision and execution is a disaster. 5 years into this management and we continue trading 30% below par value with zero market volume. Where is the BOD taking responsibility?
