Zip My wife has written scripts for Vascepa for her dialysis patients .

What happens is that when the patient presents the script at the pharmacy they are told V is either non formulary or Tier 4 therefore there will be a high co pay .

They are then offered generic lovaza per prescribers approval if they can't afford the Vascepa co pay .
What follows is usually some messaging between pharmacist and wife . Wife will chk history of LDL levels , statin therapy , A Fib risk etc .......and if patient is on a Statin , with low LDL and no history of A Fib ..and they can only afford the co pay ( Tier 2 ) generic Lovaza ...thats what they end up with .

Note ...above is my memory of our discussion about how a patient prescribed Vascepa at her hospital ends up with generic Lovaza. ( her recollection might be different smile
