Thanks for the article regarding our California water situation. We're a have-to-little have-to-much kind of state and at this time we have too much water too early. As the article reveals, various interests are already quarreling about the largess in wet stuff. The cities think they should have first dibs and the farmers think differently. There's also the various fish that have been affect and the San Francisco Estuary that hasn't been flushed to the sea in years. Both cities and farmers couldn't care less about the environment---they want water.
Mr. Trump will probably help the farmers by giving them more water via the Federal Water Project which was created decades ago to irrigate the huge Central Valley.
We've lived for years under drought water use restrictions and it will be great to water when I like and take long showers without feeling guilty. Perhaps I'll let the faucet run while brush I my teeth just 'cause I want to. :)
I saw a couple of interesting shows on TCM this evening regarding the 50s and 60s civil rights movement in the South. I find it interesting that in three generations that that part of America has gone from siccing police dogs and training fire hoses and beating African-Americans with truncheons to enjoying them as the backbone of the Alabama and Clemson football teams.
