There have been several recent ILMN PR releases of late and cumulatively they make it clear that they are a big, earnest, well funded company who pours a lot of $ and talent into R&D. They are also branching out into several areas including amassing big databases of their sequenced results and the software to use it. They are involved in multiple collaborations with other outfits that promise to be fruitful.
Viewpoints expressed here made it almost sound like we would shortly dominate the sequencing field.
We are superior at what we do, but.... I don't think so.
