Failure to execute.

It seems like they didn't have people in the organisation who understood Mobile at all, and that this lasted for 7+ years.

And if their failure was down to them putting their C team in charge of mobile design, how is that a satisfactory answer or outcome?

What is the point of wasting billions, if you aren't going to try your best???

However what disappoints me the most is their failure to become a significant foundry player, thus making it harder for ARM and AMD's fab suppliers to have the funds they need to keep up with Intel.

Also the slowness in bringing out products due to the Altera takeover.

Right now, Intel hasn't yet paid the price for the above mistakes, but I very much doubt we will be saying that in 10 years time, and this should be evident long before the 10 years is up.
