Intel is in the smartwatch game (no, really). New Balance is selling a running watch with apps and notifications. So this kind of makes it a smartwatch but it's really a running watch with smartwatch features. It says that New Balance builds it in conjunction with Intel.

It's an Android watch that can store music and send it to your BlueTooth headset, has GPS tracking and heart monitoring (probably wrist-based). It will provide notifications if your phone is nearby.

Battery life is 24 hours normal use or 5 hours with GPS and HR monitoring.

Unfortunately I just bought a Garmin Forerunner 630 (I've been looking at it for a year) and it does everything that the New Balance model does except for playing music. It has better battery life and offers more sophisticated runmetrics analysis. The New Balance watch looks pretty solid though and the price isn't bad at $299 (the Garmin retails for $450 with the chest strap).
