- Teva invested $1 million in Novotyr Therapeutics and has an option to invest several million dollars more for a 27 percent stake in the company, Globes online reported today.

- Novotyr is developing inhibitors of an insulin-like growth factor receptor as drugs for the treatment of cancer and other diseases. The company plans to begin clinical trials in 2009.

Novotyr was the previously name of Tyrnovo.
