Ex-Patriots employee Mike Lombardi said on this week's Bill Simmons Podcast that he believes Malcolm Mitchell will be inactive for Saturday night's Divisional Round game versus the Texans. Lombardi was very possibly just guessing, but he said fairly confidently that Mitchell probably wouldn't play and would be replaced by Michael Floyd. Mitchell did miss Week 17 with a knee injury and has only practiced on a "limited" basis this week. Floyd made two big plays in Mitchell's absence and has earned at least a part-time role. With Danny Amendola (ankle) also due back and Julian Edelman and Chris Hogan all systems go, the Patriots suddenly have a wide receiver quagmire of which someone will inevitably get left out.
