Intel is divesting itself of its VUZI investment. Who knows what AAPL will do?

If VUZI IP is desirable enough for AAPL then they may be interested in buying us out. I suspect that another large consumer electronics company will be more interested than AAPL.

The prospect of moving ahead without being acquired by another entity is much more desirable to me.

At some point the heat in this area will be so intense that it will be challenging for management not to be bought out, however.
