It'd be nice if he'd only learn and act...

That is far better!

It won't change history, but it could become a success story and change outcome. There are a lot of them (success from ashes stories) and always room for more.

Unfortunately, I personally don't see a change in course from Ed.
I see more of the wrong moves and more of them at an increasing rate.

He needs to learn that one doesn't improve outcome when going in the wrong direction by accelerating. Ed needs to turn around and then accelerate.

Turn what around?

Inaccuracy --> Accuracy
Irresponsibility --> Responsibility
Failures --> Successes
Immaturity --> Maturity
Losses --> Profits
Devaluation --> Valuation
Unpopular --> Popular
Unbelievable --> Believable
Ineffective --> Effective
Disrespected --> Respected

He has a lot to work with and a lot to do, but I have no doubt if he would start working to repair these impressions that so many people have of him, he could end up doing well.

A past Ralston Purina President once was asked how he got to where he was. His response was he made a lot of good decisions. When asked how he learned to make good decisions he responded he had made a lot of mistakes.

I'm sure we can all agree Ed has had the opportunity to learn.
I hope he is learning.
