Superficially, it would appear to be a plausible reason, not least when looking at Glencore's current stake in the Company and its knowledge of the available resources in the ground. However, a counter view could be, as follows. Glencore have two executives who sit on the PLM Board; would they really risk being exposed for aiding manipulation, even through third parties? As far as PR is concerned, I think it is more likely that the CEO and his immediate technical team have been too busy getting the EIS, land swap and permits through to think about a proper pro-active PR strategy. They are probably not even convinced of the need for one at this stage, merely relying upon somewhat anodyne announcements from Company and agencies as milestones are achieved! As I have said before, PLM has a good story to tell. Someone with the relevant communication skills should be appointed to tell it! Finally, a question regarding the recent threat of a treehugger lawsuit regarding supposedly threatened wildlife. If the lawsuit is against the agencies, but the land swap is a done deal, how will that work?
