If you were paying attention, youd notice that no one partnered with Tesla. Panasonic has a cooperative agreement with the gigafactory, but has assured that it will make a profit even if Tesla losses continue.

Sane businessmen wont drink the Musk Koolaid. Musk approached a lot of
companies, and they backed away.


As far as gobbling up companies, the bailout of SCTY was because Musk and SpaceX stood to lose a lot of money if SCTY went under.

It was self serving and not in shareholders interest, as SCTY is a money losers. This bailout and financial albatross just made the Tesla house of cards shakier.
