...yeah, lot of 'ifs' with Karns, but he will get a chance to be a starter with the Royals, and if he's any good the deal would be a steal.

Royals also picked up Pete O'brien from the Diamondbacks a few days ago, for very little. Now, Pete's one of those super slow, big power first baseman Dh's. I dont like to give up much for those kinda players, and the good news is the Royals didnt give up much at all. At 26, he hasnt proven anything, but he does have real strong minor league slugging stats, with lots of homers and a minor league career slugging percentage of .532. Hopefully, he can fill the spot at DH with decent numbers.
