I'm not going to do that. First of all, nobody ever reads that message board. And if he wanted to reveal his source, he would have done so already. Even then, there are no guarantees that management will actually file.
So you will just have to play the odds here. This whole thing isn't a suprise to me though. They filed the 2015 10-K late (in august) even though the auditor completed work in April. And now they intend to file 2016 without the quarterly reports. For some reason.
So are they unable to file quarterly reports? I don't think that's realistic if they can file the 10-K. And they will not become current if they skip the quarterly reports IMO. So there has to be another reason. There was also a change in management in august, and probably a change in strategy.
Either they want to go private (in which case they have to file the 10-K first). Or perhaps they have been planning a listing in China for a while, probably in Shanghai because a sister company has a listing there already.
So what does it mean if they want to go private? They should have more than $100M in cash and they only need to repurchase some 15M shares. So it's like waiting for a Christmas present, with the appraisal firm saying the company is worth $15/share. So any offer below $5 is a rip-off.
Even if we get none of it, and I never seem to get lucky, the 10-K should be very interesting. We won't miss anything because Q3 and Q4 are by far the best quarters for this company.
What does it mean for me? I already have a few shares. But I can't help thinking that HERB might be the big one in 2017. So I will probaby buy a few more but only if this friggin CCCL stock goes up.
Also interesting, we did have some buying a couple of weeks ago. Was it related to this "news"? I don't know.
