..Karns looks like a real throw of the dice to me, I thought we could get a little more for Dyson. Karns ended the season on the 60 day dl with back problems, and while the Royals say he is now fine, imo back problems can be recurrent.
From the stats looks like Karns throws real hard. Problem is he gives up way too many HR's and walks. So, imo, if the back is ok, AND if he can lighten up on the HR's and walks, he could be a good starter. Of course thats lotsa ifs. Not young, but not old at 29, and the Royals control his destiny for a while.
With Dyson, I agree with you (except he will take a walk). Really a great back up, maybe one of the best in the game b/c of his defense and speed. Premier defensive outfielder who can play all three spots well. Decent pinch hitter, and you can stick him in as a pinch runner in close game to steal a base or have a better chance to score, and you dont lose all that much if he stays in except power. Flip side is he turns 33 next year...so you got some age there. He doesnt look or play old at all, but if he had an off year at KC in '17, not many teams would be interested anymore.
best.
