Couldn't tolerate the childish rant.
There are some things that this country has to deal with and it seems to me that conservatives don't want to go there.
By definition, an IQ of 100 is average. Anyone with an average IQ finds it extremely difficult, if not impossible to find employment that will allow him/her to take care of a family and work a 40 hour work week.
We are not talking about the disabled here, we are talking about the "average joe" or Jane. The only choice is to structure the economy so minimum wage is a living wage. The disabled and elderly should also get a living wage for contributing to society in any way that they can. As a society we need to reward local artists and artisans with a living wage and spend less on mass media.
Our children should all have access to adequate education. They should feel free to choose college or a trade. Children who fail to make the college cut should know that they have a valuable contribution to make to society. Some creative geniuses will go directly into trade because they are makers at heart. The country needs to make higher education available to every child that can benefit from it simply because it will enhance their contribution to society and they should not leave college with a debt burden that limits their ability to contribute to society in the way they wish (as doctors, teachers, techies or poets) and have a happy healthy family.
If we do not provide families with a decent lifestyle the alternative is economic Eugenics. I believe this is what we are seeing now and too many of our children never live up to their full potential.
We are also going to have to take the profit motive out of healthcare. Let our local doctors, hospitals and other healthcare providers compete in a fair market that does not favor corporatism. Universal Healthcare or Medicare for All is the only way we can do this.
In 1776 we began on a journey and the goal was to provide the opportunity for life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness to all. When did this change to the one who collects the most marbles wins?
