GE is revolutionizing production capabilities to deliver faster, lighter and more cost-effective solutions for today’s warfighters
Additive Manufacturing
Also known as 3D printing, additive manufacturing is the process of creating parts directly from a computerized drawing using fine metal powder and an electron beam or laser. This allows engineers to design complex, intricate parts, make prototypes more quickly and efficiently and eliminate substantial weight while maintaining the part’s strength and integrity.
GE is incorporating additive manufacturing in its AATE, FATE and ITEP programs.
Built on insights from four decades of proven performance on the T700 engine, the newly designed T901 (formerly GE3000) will deliver more power, fuel efficiency, and durability for the Army's Improved Turbine Engine Program (ITEP).
