By definition, to take a loss in 2016 ( to offset
other taxable gains ) one must sell the losing
shares N.L.T. 12/31/2016. .. If they are sold after
01.01.2017, then the loss must be taken in 2017.
Easy stuff.
IMO, tax loss selling is almost over, this year, for
MDRM. .. And the price has begun recovering, right ?
In the link I posted you can see that a person may
buy back the shares ( if they want continued owner-
ship ) after 31 days. .. Buy them back earlier and
it's considered a "wash". which is not good.
FOR THOSE THAT WANT TO BUY BACK THEIR
shares, the re-buying is supportive of the price, just
like the tax-loss selling was destructive of the price.
When the price tanked, it would've been a good cha-
nce to load up more shares. .. But for me, I already
had a lot of MDRM shares.
