Counting common shares only, there are 8.85 billion shares held out there. GE paid out $2.1 billion in dividends (again, counting common shares only) just this morning.

How does one conclude it's an unpopular stock? GE has been a tremendous wealth creation machine. Folks shouldn't care about where the share price ticks, unless they are considering adding. The tick doesn't matter.
