01:51 PM EST, 12/13/2016 (MT Newswires) -- Wynn Resorts, LTD(WYNN) shares jumped more than 3% with other casino stocks also gaining Tuesday after Japanese lawmakers in an upper house panel approved a bill to legalize casinos.

The clearance by the committee assures the enactment of the bill into a law, according to a report from Reuters.

The casino market in Japan could be worth $40 billion, the report said citing brokerage CLSA.
