I've been a consumer of both brands with gusto since grade school. Hostess quality comes and goes. The newest Hostess Cupcakes are delicious, but I think they upped to quality for the IPO.
Suzy Qs disappeared with the bankruptcy. Then a few months ago I found some in a Walmart. They tasted and looked like chocolate sponges. So bad I looked up reviews online and 98% were negative for that product.
Years ago as I recall the Little Debbie brand was mostly found in 2nd rate Quickshops. Upscale supermarkets featured Hostess products. But Little Debbie has improved. Swiss Rolls are sinful.
I think Hostess is going to have trouble coming back. Plus I think there really is a trend among young people to healthier eating.
I will be watching the stock.
