A "soft launch"?

Definition: "the release of a new product or service to a restricted audience or market in advance of a full launch"

It sounds to me like more beta testing. Or a continuation of the Mañana song that management has been singing about Ploinks for several years now.

And the BoD agreeing to "pursue" a Ploinks spinoff hardly seems like news.
