[Article is a bit weird since they also talk about Intel winding down its manufacturing processes! Getting back to graphics, what are the chances of Intel adopting AMD GPU technology??]

AMD Reportedly Agree Deal To Use Radeon GPUs In Next-Gen Intel CPUs

AMD’s impressive march back into relevance continues with the revelation that Team Red has allegedly signed a deal with Intel to incorporate AMD Radeon GPUs into Intel’s next-generation processors.

Yep, you read that right. After years of Intel attempting to make gains with its own integrated GPUs (iGPUs), the chip giant has thrown the towel in and decided to leave it to the graphics hardware experts. A contract has already reportedly been signed that will see AMD iGPU on future Intel CPUs.

"The licensing deal between AMD and Intel is signed and done for putting AMD GPU tech into Intel's iGPU", said HardOCP’s Kyle Bennett.

Intel allegedly still wants to keep this whole thing hush for now though as it looks to wind down its own manufacturing processes.

This would be absolutely huge if true. Intel’s iGPUs are already the most adopted graphics solutions in the world. Were AMD Radeon to replace them, AMD would be the de facto dominant force in graphics chips.

I have to say however I do find the set up a little bizarre. I’m presuming AMD would be getting a significant chunk of money for putting graphics chips into competitor’s CPUs. What could be potentially worrying is both Intel and AMD cosying up to one another, truly limiting competition in the CPU market.

What do you make of this news then, a promising partnership of two powerhouses? AMD getting a firm grip on the GPU industry? Or the potentially worrying death of competition? Let us know your thoughts!
