In fairness to me it wasn't hindsight it was painfully obvious you never over pay for speed. Never. Speed goes too quickly look at carl crawford contract that was a disaster, ellsbury, michael bourn I could keep going about speed leadoff hitters getting big contracts in their late 20's low 30's and they almost always fail. Where a guy like granderson stays good his contract has been far better and by the way he is a far better player then ellsbury at cheaper prices, they could of went that route by the way if not spending on cano, they didn't need to sign ellsbury.
