Chesapeake Energy Corporation is doing an asset sale today to buy back debt. This would reduce cost and improve balance sheet in the long run.

In around May, CEO did a debt for equity swap with the purchase of $165m for around 37m shares of $4.44. The company has reduced the share floats when CHK was dirt cheap and now finding ways to reduce its debt.

CHK - may be a buy out target from a bigger Oil/Energy company with OPEC's oil reduction plans. Anything below the teens would make CHK an easy buy out target IMO. Watch for 17% short squeeze pulling this back up to a market cap of 9b. So far, 41 hedge funds loaded CHK up from 31 hedge funds in the 3Q. GLTYA!
