Where it is at is that they are at a point wher it is 5x they capacity of current batteries on the market and the grant is to increase that capacity and improve other aspects which is why the analyses from the lab is needed to determine the optimal metallization scheme for porous silicon as well as reliable and reproducible processes and insights into possible causes of degradation, capacity fade and dendrite growth. WHich also sates The understanding acquired through the project will improve the manufacturing of the porous silicon, in particular the metallization process. All of which the Lab themselves state lol nothing about trying to find some mythical 5x power capaicty limit you saying is not there yet no one is saying it isnt.

As far as employees ummm lol even on the labs page for neah it says staff not one, You are looking at it blindly from the DOE perspective as it says one full time employee what I didnt know Argonne didnt have multiple employee hire types that work on projects together lol like every other company on the planet.
