OH ME!!! Got to thinking or in reading my Scriptures then I got to thinking....We come and accept Jesus Christ as our Savior, we accept and believe in Grace....then God through the Holy Spirit bestows gift(s) upon the believer.....Not finding fault here, jus thinking and we all know this is a bad thing for me to do....anyway, I have seen the church encourage folks to take on different jobs, chair this or chair that...., thereby exercising a gift/talent, this is a good thing, but, it may not be the gift/talent the Holy Spirit has bestowed upon them. Then I got to thinking what would happen if the church placed on the alter several cards with a job/need on it, then ask the congregation to think on these and pray on these and follow the Holy Spirit's guidance, I wonder if this would strengthen the church. Then I wondered if folks consider asking God what they can do for Him and wait on the Holy Spirit. EX: Suppose you are ask to serve as Director of the Board, or a place of high authority in the church, but your God given gift/talent lies in cleaning, you know mopping da floors, cleaning the bathrooms, washing da windows.....God has given you the best by far ability to preform this task of cleaning,, way better than another person.....Now, yes maybe you could serve as a Director of whatever and do a good job,-----point in question, do we serve as others want us to or as our pride directs us to or do we humble ourselves and follow the direction of the Holy Spirit and take the lowly position as chief cleaner......

We read that God gives gifts/talents to the believer-----have you gone to prayer and ask God to reveal this gift to you, and how can you use it in the service for the Lord? OR, do You/Me/We decide what and how we want to do to serve?.....Can I be the leader of a committee or clean the head? Think I would choose to head the committee----jus being honest here....but after reading and thinking on the subject, I am a very good cleaner and enjoy taking something dirty and making it shine....HUMMMM!! MY PRIDE or go with SERVICE as called by the Holy Spirit
