Here we are looking at activity in the area that could have 'profound effects' for future deals
for the MIT-1000 technology.

Martin Reinhardt, of the Center for Native American Studies, has reached out for funding to support hosting the 2017 Native American Critical Issues Conference that is put on by the Michigan Indian Education Association.

The conference would be held from March 23 through 25, 2017.

If Reinhardt's proposal is successful, it will be the first time in 17 years that the conference will be held in the Upper Peninsula.

He has requested support from the Sault Tribe and the Keweenaw Bay Indian Community.
