Exchanges strongly recommend against reverse splits for troubled firms because they almost never keep the price up for long. In almost every case I've seen, the stock continues plummeting after the RS and delisting is only delayed for a brief time. More screwing of shareholders.

Also a reverse split is a huge red flag for years.
