He went with option #1 which I think is best because he can do another one of those and then a couple extensions of the closing date and string people out for at least another year.

1) Announce an extension of the MOU - ideally to early next year so he can keep the carrot dangling through the holidays
2) Announce a closing date - WOOT!!! WOOT! - again make it early next year and then he can simply extend the closing date until a even bigger and better deal comes along!!!!! Triple WOOOT!!!!
3) Do a combination of the above or even multiples of the above!!! - therefore dragging this baby out for another year or more!!!!
