If OPEC manages to make a meaningful dent in production, and manages to drag other oil producing nations in with them; they can pump less oil and collect the same or better $. A win-win for them. They've done it before.
The margin of overproduction to usage is quite small.
So, if they make it stick and oil prices rise significantly, it's reasonable to think we benefit. Twas low oil prices that brought us low after all.
