I think they key is not to invest TOO much of your money, and tie it all up. But $500-$1,500 investment is worth it for a flier. Just depends on your investing philosophy. I'm a believer in maximizing your 401K investments, paying extra payments on your house, putting away a little savings each month, then with the leftover play money, take your shots, within reason.
