Well put. The ecological axiom for organisms of "Adapt, migrate, or die" does indeed include humans.
I think that any climactic disruptions will be within the ecological amplitude of humans and our tools, but as we have already arguably exceeded our long-term carrying capacity, the human toll will likely be huge. So the do-nothings are just ensuring that our future includes many of their descendants dying out as we adjust to the new environment. Quite a legacy they wish to leave, particularly since it may be preventable, at least to a partial degree, but the fossil fuel profits are just more important I guess.
