Scania,

"Any machine readable input" is the key IMO. It also remains my view that ALL mobile payment is being transacted through the clearinghouse.

However, IMO just as I feel Walmart Pay was the initial beta (again, merely my opinion) Chase Pay represents the next phase and it is more inclusive than NFC (which Chase Pay is also expected to incorporate later on). Mobile users with old smart phones, of which there are many, will now be able to make mobile payments.

Mobile payments are considerably more secure than utilizing a regular credit card, in part because they utilize a gateway, and by utilizing QR codes they become even more secure (QR codes are currently not hackable). Should you lose your credit card you are at risk, but if you lose your cell phone you have passcodes protecting the information (I use multiple levels of passcodes), you can disable the phone remotely, wipe it remotely, and track the phone remotely.

In viewing the reviews on Chase Pay it appears glaring to me that a high number of negative posts are being made, similar to how CurrentC's app was attacked in the app stores. I have heard that code may have been incorporated to compare posts and user information from CurrentC to posts concerning Chase Pay to identify certain criteria, and that legal action may be forthcoming.

All of the above is merely my opinion.

Best,
BC
