That could have been what happened. You know when you click on that little white Task View icon in the task bar? That desktop design it changes to? Well it was as if it was stuck in that mode and no matter what I did I could not change it. Even restarting the computer didn't work. Hopefully, it doesn't happen again but I wrote down that "tablet mode" so I can try checking there if it does.
